I am also an Artist Facilitator working with Artist's with Learning Disabilities.

In 2016 Philippa Marshall; one of the Artist's I facilitated at ActionSpace, and I received Arts Council funding for a 3 month residency and exhibition at The Free Space Gallery in London.

The collaborative project focused on how we could develop our own artist practise, whilst responding to working together as artists in a new, and different environment.

This residency and collaboration with Philippa Marshall was very much about working with colour. Both of us use colour extensively in our work. Colour is particularly important to Philippa who, as a non-verbal artist uses colour to express how she feels.

At the start and end of each of our sessions together we would both choose a swatch colour that best reflected how we felt at that time. I documented our choices and then wove the selected colours into strips, one for each of us. This was how A Dialogue with Colour was born.
